Frequently Asked Questions
Check-in opens at 6PM and all reservations must be checked in by 7PM or your reserved kayaks will be released to first come first served walk-ups. No refunds for late arrivals or no-shows. If you are running late. Please call to let us know so we can hold the kayak(s) for you. 512-321-4661
You do not have to launch when you check in. After check-in our staff will be on site to assist you onto the river when you are ready to go.
Flow rates vary, but typical flow in the fireworks viewing area is very moderate to flat. In the event of higher flow rate due to recent rains etc. your purchase will be converted into a digital gift card to be used against a future activity with us.
River Co staff will be on the water marking the viewing area boundaries and assisting kayakers if needed.
This event is what we call an “out and back”. Similar to the hourly rentals we offer during normal operating hours, you will depart from Fisherman’s Park and following the fireworks show return to the same spot you launched from.
Our outfitters will be on the river with you to make sure you don’t. But again, the flow in the viewing area is very moderate to flat under normal conditions.
- Minimum age for this event is 10 years old.
- Youth under 18 years old must accompanied by an adult. 1:1 adult to youth ratio
If someone in your party weighs over 250lbs, please contact us ahead of time so we can assign one of our larger kayaks to your group.
For this event we primarily use Perception Tribe sit-on-top kayaks.
NO. Not for this event.
Dogs are however permitted on most of our regular activities as long as they have experience being in a boat and will not be a distraction to the paddler. Rivers are not the place to train a dog to sit in a kayak or canoe. We recommend taking your pet out on a lake several times first where you can stay close to a water exit.
Yes. It is the 4th of July after all.
Keep it small. The kayaks have some storage space but not a lot.
If you show up inebriated you will forfeit your reservation with no refund.
If you consume heavily while on the water our outfitters will remove you from the river and you will forfeit your reservation with no refund.
If you choose to consume alcohol do so responsibly. Respect the river, respect those around you, and respect our staff.
No Glass and No Styrofoam please.
There are snakes in all rivers and lakes in Texas. Snakes are more active in the springtime. If you see a snake, avoid it. Generally, if you leave it alone it will leave you alone.
Especially since there will be a number of kayaks in the area, a snake sighting is highly unlikely.
